What does doc-Q-route do?

It is a server based solution that will automatically route print jobs based upon various criteria.

Why?

Users are often not very cost conscious about their printing and will use a printer simply because it is the nearest.

Desktop printers tend to have higher costs per page than Multi-Functional Products (MFPs) so doc-Q-route can be used as a print policing tool to prevent desktops being misused.

It can also be used as a failover tool so routing jobs to a working printer in the event that there is a fault on the current one.

doc-Q-route can also be used as a basic print audit tool to discover what sorts of jobs users are printing to the various queues - this includes logging details such as the number of pages in a job, whether it's duplex, colour (and how many colour pages are in it), which user printed it and on which printer.

How does it do this?

An administrator sets up rules for the existing print queues through a simple point and click interface. Click on Tutorial to see how this works.

NEW!!

Print Auditing capability can be used to analyse print usage and even cost. See the Downloads section for more details.
De-Colourisation - the ability to force jobs to black and white because of the application that printed them (e.g. emails) or because the user is not in the Active Directory group which allows them to print in colour. See the Downloads section for this free plug-in.
